Website SEO Audit Services

SEO Audit Services That Leave Nothing Left To Argue About

Your rankings are not a mystery. They are simply undocumented, and that is why every conversation about them ends in opinion. A senior specialist works through your site by hand, sets it beside the sites beating you, and writes down every reason you are losing ground: technical, content, links, competitors, and how search engines and AI assistants read you today. Evidence you can check, at a fixed price printed on this page.

Why You Are Here

Why Most SEO Campaigns Stall

You do not need more tactics. You need to know which one thing is actually holding your revenue back, and in what order to fix the rest.

01 The Flat Line

Traffic is up, revenue is flat

The monthly report is green. The pipeline has not moved. You cannot tell whether the strategy is chasing the wrong keywords or the execution is simply weak, and nobody has been willing to say which.

02 The Unexplained Drop

Traffic fell and nobody knows why

An update landed, or a site change broke something. Your agency is “monitoring the situation.” Weeks later you still have no cause, no timeline, and no idea whether it will recover on its own.

03 The Spreadsheet

Your last audit was 200 rows of data

You were handed problems, not instructions. No priority order, no business consequence, nothing a developer could act on without translation. The issues were found. Nothing was ever fixed.

04 The Competitor

Someone is taking your best clicks

They outrank you on the terms that actually convert. Without knowing exactly which content and which links are doing it, every counter-move you make is a guess with a budget attached.

05 The Blind Spot

AI search is skipping you entirely

ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews are answering your buyers’ questions with someone else’s content. Without the right schema, entity clarity and structure, AI engines have nothing to quote you on.

06 The Content Treadmill

You publish constantly and rank the same

You do not know which of your pages are competing against each other, which are dead weight dragging your topical authority down, or which topics a competitor owns outright while you keep writing around the edges.

Every one of these has a cause. All six are findable in a week. An audit is not a report. It is the sentence that ends the guessing. See every check we run →
The Difference

What you know afterwards that you do not know now

An audit does not fix your rankings. It tells you which actions will, and just as usefully, which ones are not worth your money. That is the difference between spending on SEO and knowing where to spend it.

Most SEO budget is not wasted on bad work. It is wasted on good work aimed at the wrong problem, because nobody ever established what the problem was. Every month you run without a diagnosis, you are paying for effort and hoping it lands somewhere useful.
Which of your pages Google actually ranks

Not which pages you published. Which ones are indexed, which ones are ranking, and which ones Google has quietly never picked up. On most sites the gap between those two numbers is the finding that pays for the audit.

Which pages are fighting each other

Keyword cannibalization is invisible from the inside. When four of your pages target one term, Google picks one, usually not the one you want, and splits the authority across the rest.

What your competitors cover that you never have

Keyword gap analysis maps every term your top competitors rank for that your site does not touch. Frequently they are high-intent commercial terms you simply never thought to target.

Which backlinks are helping, and which are a liability

Your referring domains, your anchor text distribution, and the links that are doing nothing except sitting in a spam neighbourhood. Set beside the profile of whoever is outranking you.

The three things to do on Monday morning

Every finding scored on ranking impact and implementation effort, then ordered. Page one of the report is the short list. You start work the day the report lands, not after a month of interpreting it.

What We Investigate

Every check that goes into our website SEO audit services

Not a category list. The actual checks. Open any layer below and you can see exactly what a senior specialist works through on an audit. If you are comparing us against another provider, this is the list to compare against.

This section answers “what do you check?” It deliberately does not repeat which package each check belongs to, because that would mean maintaining the same information in two places. The comparison table in the pricing section is the single source of truth for what is in which package, and it is laid out in the same eight layers you see here.

Technical SEO Audit ReportCrawlability, indexation, speed, rendering and security

We crawl your site the way a search engine does, then check what it found against what Google has actually indexed. Every issue is written in one plain sentence with the business consequence attached, not left as a row in an error table.

  • Index coverage and excluded page reasons
  • Robots.txt rules and accidental blocks
  • XML sitemaps: accuracy, freshness, orphans
  • Canonical tags and self-referencing conflicts
  • Redirect chains and redirect loops
  • 404 and 410 handling and soft 404s
  • Core Web Vitals: LCP, INP and CLS
  • Page speed on mobile and desktop
  • JavaScript rendering: what Google sees vs your browser
  • Mobile usability and viewport handling
  • HTTPS, certificate and mixed content
  • Security headers and HSTS
  • Pagination and faceted URL handling
  • URL structure and parameter bloat
  • Server response codes across the site
  • Crawl budget and log file review
On-Page SEO AnalysisSite-wide hygiene in every package, page by page from Close Up up

Site-wide, we report the hygiene problems across every URL we crawl. From Close Up upward, a specialist also opens each of your priority pages individually and works through the checks in the second column.

  • Missing or duplicate title tags
  • Truncated or over-length titles and metas
  • Missing meta descriptions at scale
  • Broken H1 hierarchy and multiple H1s
  • Thin pages below usable content depth
  • Duplicate content across templates
  • Image alt text coverage and quality
  • Per-page target keyword: is there one
  • Is it the right keyword to be chasing
  • Keyword cannibalization against every other URL
  • Search intent match against what ranks
  • Content depth vs the page outranking you
  • Heading and copy structure per page
  • Written recommendation for that page
Backlink Profile AuditQuality, risk, anchor text and where authority is landing

The whole profile is reviewed in every package, including the $349 one. What changes higher up is whether we can connect your anchor text to a page target, which only becomes answerable once pages have agreed target keywords.

  • Referring domain count and growth pattern
  • Domain quality spread across the profile
  • Topical relevance of linking sites
  • Toxic and spam links identified
  • Link networks and footprint patterns
  • Branded anchors as a share of the profile
  • Generic anchors such as click here and bare URLs
  • Commercial anchors carrying service or product terms
  • Over-optimized anchors at risk of being discounted
  • Which pages the links actually point at
  • Lost and broken backlinks worth reclaiming
  • Disavow recommendation where one is warranted
  • Anchor mapped to page target
  • Competitor backlink gap
Competitor Gap Analysis and Keyword Gap AnalysisWhat the sites above you are doing that you are not

Every package establishes who is outranking you and where their strength sits. From Close Up upward this becomes a full keyword gap analysis and competitor gap analysis, with each opportunity marked by how realistically you can close it.

  • Who actually ranks for your commercial terms
  • Where their authority comes from
  • Content footprint and publishing pattern
  • Terms they rank for that you do not cover
  • Terms you both target where they win
  • Pages of yours aimed at the wrong term
  • Opportunity ranked by achievability
  • Content gaps by topic cluster
  • Link sources they hold that you do not
  • Category share of the terms that matter
  • SERP features they own and you do not
  • Snippet and PAA positions worth taking
Internal Link StructureWhere your authority goes, and where it should go instead

Internal linking is the cheapest ranking lever most sites never pull. We map how authority currently moves through your site, then list the specific links that would move it somewhere more useful.

  • Orphan pages nothing links to
  • Dead-end pages that link nowhere
  • Click depth from the homepage
  • Broken internal links and internal redirects
  • Authority flow map across templates
  • Pages hoarding internal authority
  • Commercial pages receiving none
  • Internal anchor text quality
  • Named links to add, source and anchor
  • Navigation and footer link efficiency
  • Breadcrumb structure and markup
  • Hub and cluster integrity
Content AuditWhat to keep, what to improve, what to merge, what to remove

Every page we analyze individually gets a decision attached, with the reasoning written next to it. This applies to the pages in your package, not to every URL on the site, so you always know exactly what has been reviewed and what has not.

  • Which pages earn traffic and which do not
  • Pages competing against each other
  • Thin or outdated content dragging authority down
  • Keep, improve, merge or remove, with the reason
  • Merge targets named where pages should combine
  • Topical authority mapped against the category
  • Coverage gaps inside topics you already own
  • E-E-A-T signals: authorship and credentials
  • Content freshness against the ranking set
  • Commercial intent pages missing conversion paths
Structured Data and AI Search ReadinessWhether AI engines can read you, and whether they can quote you

AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity are answering buyer questions today, and they can only quote what they can parse. Schema coverage and AI crawler access are checked in every package. The deeper entity work sits in Deep Focus and Full Frame.

  • Schema coverage across page types
  • Schema validity and blocking errors
  • Organization and LocalBusiness markup
  • Product, Article, FAQ and Breadcrumb markup
  • Rich result eligibility by template
  • AI crawler access in robots and at server level
  • Open Graph and social markup
  • Entity clarity: who you are, what you sell
  • Content structured to be quotable
  • Answer-engine visibility baseline
  • Where AI answers cite competitors instead
Conversion, Analytics and Migration RiskWhether the traffic you do get is being wasted

Rankings that do not convert are an expensive kind of success. This layer checks whether organic traffic is leaking before it converts, and whether your measurement is telling you the truth about it.

  • Landing page conversion performance by intent
  • Drop-off points in the organic journey
  • Calls to action missing on ranking pages
  • Form and enquiry friction
  • GA4 configuration and event integrity
  • Goal and conversion tracking accuracy
  • Search Console property and coverage setup
  • Ranking URL inventory before a migration
  • Pages holding backlinks that must survive
  • Architecture that must be preserved
  • Redirect map requirements
  • Developer-ready specifications for each fix
Why we publish the whole list Because “comprehensive SEO audit” means nothing until somebody shows you what is inside it. You should be able to hold this list against any other quote you are considering and see, line by line, what is and is not being done. If a check that matters to you is not on this list, ask us about it before you order rather than after. To see which of these apply to each package, the comparison table sets it out layer by layer.
Before You Look At Prices

One variable decides your price. Here it is.

Audit pricing across this industry is deliberately vague, and that is how scope arguments start. So here is the whole model in two boxes. Some work is done once no matter how big your site is. Other work has to be repeated for every page. Only the second kind changes the price.

Done once · same for every package

The site-wide layer

This is your site as a single object. Crawling 40 pages or 4,000 takes the same analyst either way, so it costs the same either way. Every package below includes all of it.

  • Full crawl: indexation, crawlability, redirect chains, canonicals, orphan pages
  • Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile handling, JavaScript rendering
  • Schema and structured data coverage, HTTPS and security headers
  • Site-wide on-page hygiene: missing, duplicate and truncated titles, metas and H1s
  • Backlink profile audit: referring domain quality, toxic links, lost links
  • Anchor text split: how much is branded, generic, or carrying your service and product terms
  • Competitor overview: who ranks above you, and on what strength
  • Every finding written up in full, ordered, with the walkthrough call

What this layer cannot tell you: anything that depends on knowing which keyword a specific page is supposed to win. That includes cannibalization, intent match, per-page content gaps, and whether your anchor text points at the right term. Not because we skip it, but because it is not answerable at site level.

Repeated per page · this is what you buy more of

The page-level layer

This is a specialist opening one page at a time, deciding what that page is meant to rank for, and checking it properly against the page currently beating it. It is undivided attention on a single page, and it has to start again from nothing on the next one.

  • Is this page targeting a keyword, and is it the right keyword to target
  • Is another page on your site already competing for that same term
  • Does the page match the search intent of what currently ranks for it
  • Content depth and coverage against the page outranking you
  • On-page recommendation written specifically for that page
  • Backlink anchor text checked against that page’s target keyword
  • Internal links pointing to it, and the ones that should be

Which pages? You choose them on the discovery call, or we nominate them from your ranking and revenue data and you approve the list. Either way the page list is agreed in writing before any analysis starts.

So what is the number you are actually buying? Pages analyzed individually.

The orange squares are the pages we open one at a time. The dark squares are the rest of your site, still crawled, still checked site-wide, still in the report. Every package covers your whole site. The packages differ in how many pages get individual attention.

This is also why we do not price by total site size. A 900-page site where 20 pages carry the revenue is a smaller job than a 90-page site where every single page is a landing page that matters. Site size is not the variable. Page-level depth is.

SEO Audit Pricing

Four packages. One number each.

Four lenses, not four tiers. Each package is named for how much of your site gets individual attention, and the badge under each name tells you exactly how much. A wide-angle lens is not a worse lens than a macro, it is the lens for a different job, and these packages work the same way. Read the badge and the rows beneath it first: together they are the scope, and the scope is what the price is based on.

Custom Audit

Beyond the four packages

Some audits do not fit a page count, and pretending they do is how people end up disappointed. If your situation is on this list, describe it to us. We scope it, price it, and send you a fixed figure in writing before anyone starts work.

Scoped and quoted
A fixed figure, in writing
Sent before any work begins
What sits in Custom, and why
  • Local SEO audit. Google Business Profile, citations, NAP consistency, map pack position. A different discipline using different tools, so it is never bundled into a website audit by default
  • eCommerce over 1,000 products. Faceted navigation, index bloat from filter URLs, product schema and variant handling at catalogue scale
  • Sites above 25,000 URLs. Crawl budget analysis and server log file review, which no fixed package can absorb honestly
  • International and multi-language. Hreflang, regional URL architecture, market-by-market competitive landscape
  • Traffic-drop forensics. Timeline reconstruction against update history, manual action review, regression hunting
  • Multi-site portfolios and franchises. Roll-up reporting, cross-site cannibalization, shared template diagnosis
  • Agencies buying audits in volume. Unbranded delivery, your template, us on the client call as your team, scoped per batch rather than per audit
  • Rush timelines. Migration or launch deadlines that need the report faster than the standard turnaround

Need one item from a bigger package? Buy just that item.

You should never have to buy a whole package to get one piece of analysis. If Wide Angle is the right size for your site but you also want the competitor backlink analysis, you add the competitor backlink analysis. Any single item from any package can be added to any other package, priced on its own.

What people add most often
Keyword gap analysis Competitor gap analysis Competitor backlink analysis AI search readiness Entity-level schema for AI
1
Tell us on the discovery call

The call happens before any analysis starts, and it exists partly for this. Name the extra piece and we confirm what it covers and what it costs on the spot.

2
Or email us right after ordering

Send one email naming the items, for example “add the keyword gap analysis and the AI search readiness work”. We reply with the cost of exactly those items, invoiced separately.

It works downward too. If the package you selected is larger than your site warrants, we say so on the call and you move down. We would rather size the job correctly once than sell you depth you have no use for.

Turnaround is counted from the discovery call rather than from your order, because the call is what sets the scope. Every package includes the walkthrough call, and questions after it are answered within one business day rather than billed as consultation time. Every audit is a one-time project with nothing running on afterwards unless you ask for it.

Line By Line

Exactly what is in each package, and what is not

No footnotes, no “where applicable.” If a row says no, it is not in that package and you should not expect it in the report. This table is grouped into the same eight layers listed further up the page, in the same order, so you can read the two side by side.

Included in this package Not included in this package 15 pages A number means the check runs on each page analyzed individually 3 competitors A number means the check runs against that many competitors

The Deliverable

This is what one finding actually looks like

Everyone says their audit is “actionable.” Rather than say it, here are two findings in the exact format they arrive in. Every finding in every package is written to this template. The difference between packages is how many of them there are, and which layers they come from.

Keyword cannibalization on commercial terms Finding 02 · On-page
What it is
Four pages are targeting commercial cleaning services. Google is currently ranking the blog post, not the service page.
Evidence
/services/commercial/, /commercial-cleaning/, /blog/commercial-cleaning-guide/ and /locations/commercial/ all rank in the same query, rotating between positions 14 and 22 over 90 days.
What it costs
Your link authority is split four ways, so none of the four reaches page one. The page Google does rank has no enquiry form on it.
The fix
Keep /services/commercial/ as the target page. 301 the two duplicates into it. Rewrite the blog post so it answers a question instead of selling the service, and link it to the service page.
Once fixed
One page carries the full weight of every link the four currently share, and the page Google shows is the one with the enquiry form on it.
Ranking impact: High Effort: Low Position 2 in the working order
Every backlink you have earned lands on your homepage Finding 07 · Backlink profile
What it is
You have earned 218 referring domains, and almost all of them link to /. Your two highest-value service pages have three referring domains between them.
Evidence
134 of your 218 links use your brand name or a bare URL as the anchor, and all of them resolve to the homepage. The site outranking you on both of your commercial terms has 41 domains pointing straight at the equivalent service pages.
What it costs
The authority is arriving at the one page that does not need to compete for anything. The two pages that do have to compete are, as far as Google is concerned, almost unlinked. That is why they sit at position 12 regardless of what you publish on them.
The fix
Two moves, and the first one is free. Internally: 14 named links from pages you already own, listed in the report with the source page and the anchor to use, which redistributes existing authority to the service pages. Externally: point future link building at the service pages rather than the homepage.
Once fixed
The pages that carry your revenue start competing with authority behind them instead of on content alone.
Ranking impact: High Effort: Medium Position 7 in the working order
Why this matters A finding that says “keyword cannibalization detected on 4 URLs” and stops there is a tool output. A finding that names the page to keep, names the pages to redirect into it, explains why that page was chosen, shows what it is costing you today and states what changes once it is done is a set of instructions. The second one gets implemented, and that is the whole difference. Every finding in your report is written to this template, not just the first three.
How It Works

From first crawl to prioritized action plan

Three stages. You know what is happening at each one, and you sign off the scope before any analysis begins.

01

Discovery call and scope sign-off

Before anything is crawled, we spend 30 minutes on what the audit needs to answer. A local service business with eight pages and a traffic drop needs a completely different audit from an eCommerce catalogue losing category rankings. We agree the priority page list, confirm the competitors we will analyze, and pin down the single question you most need answered. If the package you selected is the wrong size for what you have described, we say so on this call and we change it, rather than delivering something you did not need or something short of what you did.

Your decision pointThe page list, the competitor list and the primary question are confirmed in writing. Nothing is analyzed until you approve them.
02

Site-wide crawl, then page-by-page analysis

We run the site-wide layer first: the crawl, indexation, Core Web Vitals, schema, security, and the full backlink profile. Then, on every package above Wide Angle, a specialist works through your approved page list one page at a time, checking each against the page currently outranking it. Competitor analysis runs alongside, because a finding about your site means very little without knowing what the site above you is doing differently. Nothing is auto-generated: tools produce the raw data, a senior specialist decides what it means.

Tools we runScreaming Frog, Semrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, PageSpeed Insights, Google Rich Results Test, and your GA4 where access has been shared.
03

Prioritized report, then the walkthrough

Every finding is scored on ranking impact and implementation effort, then put into a working order so you know what to start on and what follows it. That is a sequence, not a shortlist: everything in the report is there because it is affecting your search performance, and it is written on the assumption that you will work through all of it. The report is sent first so you can read it properly, and the walkthrough call is scheduled after that. On the call we go section by section and keep going until it makes sense. The call is not a summary of a document you have already read, it is where you get to argue with the conclusions.

What you receiveAudit report, executive summary, competitor and keyword gap documents, backlink analysis, and a tracking sheet so you can see what has been done and what has not. Yours permanently, with no restriction on who else sees it.

What we run the audit with

No proprietary black box, no scoring engine we invented so it cannot be checked. Industry-standard tools, cross-referenced against each other, with a human deciding which findings are real.

Screaming Frog Semrush Ahrefs Google Search Console PageSpeed Insights & CrUX Rich Results Test Google Analytics 4

What we ask for from your side

Every audit can be completed without any access at all, using third-party crawl and index data. It is simply sharper with it, because estimated data becomes your actual data.

  • Google Search Console: real impressions and clicks per query, real indexation status, and any manual actions

Straight Answers

What an audit cannot tell you

Almost nobody publishes this, which is exactly why we do. Knowing where the edges are before you buy is the difference between a report that helps you and a report that disappoints you.

It will not predict your traffic

Anyone promising you a percentage lift from an audit is guessing. What actually happens depends on what gets implemented, how quickly, and what your competitors do in the meantime. We will tell you which findings carry the most ranking weight. We will not put a revenue figure against a fix nobody has made yet.

It does not fix anything

An audit is a diagnosis. Implementing the fixes, writing content and building links are separate pieces of work. We can do all of it, and the audit findings become the brief if you want that. But nothing in these packages includes execution, and none of the prices assume you will buy any.

Competitor figures are estimates

We cannot see inside your competitors’ analytics, and neither can anyone else selling you a competitor report. Their traffic, keyword and backlink numbers come from third-party tools and carry a margin of error. Every competitor figure in your report is labeled as an estimate, because that is what it is.

Some findings need your data to be certain

Without Search Console access, indexation and query-level findings are worked out from third-party crawl data rather than confirmed by Google directly. Usually the conclusion is identical. Occasionally it is not. We mark those findings clearly so you always know which ones are confirmed and which are inferred.

It is a snapshot, not a subscription

The report describes your site on the day it was crawled. Sites change, competitors move and algorithms update. Most sites benefit from a fresh audit every 6 to 12 months, and sooner after a migration or a sharp traffic change. That is a new project when you want it, not a rolling fee.

The packages have real edges

Wide Angle does not analyze individual pages. Close Up does not include content decisions per page. Deep Focus does not include developer specifications. If you need one thing from a higher package and nothing else from it, say so on the discovery call. We will quote you that single addition rather than push you up a package.

Why this section exists

The fastest way to lose a client is to let them buy something they misunderstood. Almost every unhappy audit customer we have heard about expected something that was never part of the job. Being straight about the edges costs us a few enquiries from people who wanted a different product, and it saves everyone else a bad experience. If something you actually need sits outside the package you were about to buy, we would much rather you knew that now than on the day we deliver.

Why V2A

Why agencies and brands choose V2A for SEO audits

Strategic intelligence, not automated exports. Six reasons, none of which are a badge.

Read by a person, not generated blindly

Tools produce the raw data. A senior specialist then decides which findings are real, which are noise, and what each one is costing you. Every report is read and signed off by a person before it is sent, and that same person is on your walkthrough call.

Ordered by impact, not by ease

Most reports sort findings by a severity label, which pushes trivial fixes to the top simply because they were easy to detect. Ours are scored on ranking impact against implementation effort, so the order itself tells you something. Everything in the report matters. The order tells you where to begin.

The scope is printed, not implied

Page counts, competitor numbers, turnaround and every individual check are published on this page and repeated line by line in the comparison table. You can see the whole job before you commit to it, and nothing about it gets decided after you have ordered.

Written to be acted on, not filed

Every finding names the exact change, the page it applies to, and what shifts once it is done. From Full Frame we write developer specifications that go straight into a ticket without anyone having to translate them first. A finding nobody can action is worth nothing.

Honest, including when it is awkward

If your previous agency has been doing the wrong things, it is documented. If your site has a structural problem that no amount of content or links will solve, we name it. And if your current approach is sound and simply needs more time, the report says that too.

Built for how search works now

AI Overviews, answer engines, entity clarity and schema are built into the analysis rather than added as a closing paragraph. If ChatGPT and Perplexity cannot read your site properly, that is a visibility problem you have today, not one waiting for you in 2027.

Visual2Action vs most SEO audit providers

A good audit should tell you what is broken, what the opportunity is worth, and what happens next. Here is where most of them stop.

When this happensMost audit providersVisual2Action
You want to know the price before you enquire “Contact us for a quote.” The number arrives after somebody has assessed your budget rather than your site. Four fixed prices published on the page, with the exact scope printed underneath each one.
The report arrives and nothing gets implemented 200 rows delivered in no particular order and with no guidance. Five random items get fixed. Nothing moves. Every finding scored on impact against effort and placed in a working order, each one written as a change somebody can actually make.
You ask what a finding means for your revenue An explanation in tool language. You leave the call unsure what it means for your traffic, let alone your business. One plain sentence per finding: what it is, what it costs you, what changes when it is fixed.
Competitor analysis is needed Not included. Sold as a separate add-on, or not offered at all. Competitor overview in every package. Full competitor gap analysis and keyword gap analysis from $699, never as an add-on.
You want the backlink work included The backlink review is quoted separately, on top of the audit price, or skipped altogether. Backlink profile audit is in every package, including the $349 one. Anchor to keyword mapping from $699.
You have questions after receiving the report The report is delivered. Follow-up questions are billed as additional consultation time. Walkthrough call included in every package. Questions after it answered within one business day, not invoiced.
You suspect your current agency is underperforming Most agencies soften findings about work done by other agencies, or decline the engagement entirely. Documented exactly as found, including when the honest conclusion is that the current strategy is sound and simply needs more time.
You wonder whether a free tool gives the same result Plenty of audits are the same free tool output, forwarded with a cover page attached. Tools are where the work starts, not what you receive. The analysis, the ordering and the translation into business consequences are the deliverable.
You want to implement the fixes afterwards No implementation path. You take the report and manage execution yourself. Optional, and only if you want it. The findings become the brief for managed SEO or link building, with no re-scoping and no second discovery.
Who Benefits Most

Which situations an audit pays for fastest

Any site that depends on search traffic benefits from an audit. What changes is what it typically uncovers, and therefore which package makes sense.

eCommerce

ShopifyWooCommerceMagento

Audits here almost always find index bloat from filter and sort URLs eating crawl budget, product variants cannibalizing each other, and missing or invalid product schema. The keyword gap analysis routinely surfaces whole product categories competitors rank for that the store has never built a page for.

Usually Deep Focus · Custom above 1,000 products

SaaS and software

PlatformsAppsTech products

JavaScript rendering issues that make pricing and feature pages effectively invisible are the recurring finding. After that: missing comparison and alternative-to pages that competitors own outright, and internal link structures sending no authority at all to the pages that convert.

Usually Close Up or Deep Focus

Local service businesses

TradesHealthcareLegalHospitality

Service area pages too thin to rank, missing LocalBusiness schema, and a competitor gap showing precisely which service pages the top local competitor has that you do not. The fix list is usually short and unusually high impact. Google Business Profile and citation work sits under Custom, not in the website packages.

Usually Wide Angle or Close Up

Professional services

LawFinanceAccountingConsulting

E-E-A-T gaps dominate: author credentials missing from pages that need them, no structured data for professional qualifications, and backlink profiles noticeably weaker than competitors who invest in editorial coverage. The audit maps exactly where the authority gap sits and which pages it is costing you.

Usually Close Up

Before a redesign or migration

ReplatformingDomain changeRedesign

The highest-return audit there is, and the one most often skipped. It documents every ranking URL, every page holding backlinks, and the architecture that must survive the move. Sites that migrate without this baseline routinely lose a large share of organic traffic and spend a year recovering it.

We cross-reference your traffic timeline against update history, crawl for regressions introduced by site changes, and check Search Console for manual actions. FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The questions people ask before ordering, answered at the length they deserve.

Cost, packages and scope

How much does an SEO audit cost?

Our SEO audit services are fixed price: $349 for Wide Angle, $699 for Close Up, $1,399 for Deep Focus, and $2,399 for Full Frame. Anything larger or more specialized is scoped and quoted under Custom, and you receive that figure in writing before any work begins. Every price on this page includes the walkthrough call, and every price on this page is the figure that appears on your invoice. Nothing is added afterwards, and there are no line items that only surface once the report is written.

What is the difference between Wide Angle and Close Up?

Wide Angle covers everything that is true of your site as a whole: the crawl, indexation, Core Web Vitals, schema, redirects, security, site-wide title and meta hygiene, your full backlink profile, and a domain-level view of three competitors. What it does not do is open individual pages one at a time. Close Up adds exactly that layer for 15 priority pages, checking whether each page targets a keyword, whether it is the right keyword, whether another of your pages is competing for it, whether the content matches what currently ranks, and whether your backlink anchor text supports that page. The dividing line exists for a simple reason: site-wide work is done once no matter how big your site is, while page-level work has to start again from nothing on every page. That is why one is included everywhere and the other is what the price scales on.

How do I know which package I need?

Count the pages that actually matter to your business, meaning the ones that make money or generate enquiries. If that number is under 15, Close Up covers it. Under 40, Deep Focus. Under 100, Full Frame. If you are not yet sure anything is structurally wrong and simply want an honest read before committing a budget, start with Wide Angle at $349. Two things make the decision low risk: we tell you on the discovery call if the package you chose is the wrong size for what you have described, and the scope is settled before anything is analyzed. Nobody ends up with the wrong depth of audit because of a choice made on a form.

Can I add one thing from a higher package without upgrading?

Yes, and this is worth knowing before you choose. If you want Wide Angle but also need the competitor backlink gap, or you want Close Up but also need the AI search readiness work, tell us on the discovery call and we will quote that single addition. We would much rather add one item to the package you actually need than move you up a tier to sell you six things you never asked for. It works in the other direction too: if the package you selected is larger than your site warrants, we say so on the call and you move down.

What the audit covers

How do you check keyword cannibalization if you are only analyzing 15 pages?

Fair question, and worth being precise about. The crawl covers your whole site, so we already hold every URL, every title, every H1 and every ranking position on the site, not just the 15. Cannibalization is found by taking the target keyword of each of your 15 priority pages and searching that entire dataset for any other page competing for it, wherever it sits. So if an old blog post, a product page or a location page is undercutting one of your service pages, it is caught, because we are searching everything against your 15. What we do not do at this level is take every one of your other pages and check it against every other page in turn. That is a page-level review of the entire site, which is what Deep Focus and Full Frame widen the analyzed page count for. In practice, cannibalization almost always shows up around the commercial pages you nominated, because those are the terms multiple pages get written about.

Is the backlink profile audit really included in every package?

Yes, and that includes the $349 package. Every package covers the profile at domain level: referring domain quality and diversity, toxic and spam link identification, the split between branded, generic and commercial anchor text, lost links worth reclaiming, and a disavow recommendation where one is genuinely warranted. From Close Up upward we additionally map anchor text against the target keyword of each page we analyze individually, which is the part that tells you whether your links point at the right pages using the right terms. We separate the two deliberately, because anchor to keyword analysis is not answerable until a page has an agreed target keyword, and agreeing that is page-level work.

What does a competitor gap analysis actually show?

Four things: keywords your competitors rank for that your site does not cover, content categories where they have depth and you have nothing, backlink sources they hold that you are missing, and technical or SERP feature advantages they hold over you. Every package includes a competitor overview at domain level, so you always know who is outranking you and where their strength comes from. From Close Up upward you get the full keyword gap analysis against three competitors with each opportunity marked by how realistically you can close it, and from Deep Focus up it widens to five competitors and adds the competitor backlink gap. We never sell competitor work as a separate add-on, because an audit that only looks at your own site tells you what is broken without ever telling you what good looks like in your category.

What is not included in an SEO audit?

An audit is a diagnosis rather than the treatment. It does not include implementing the fixes, writing or rewriting content, building backlinks, or ongoing monitoring. It cannot predict exact traffic or revenue outcomes, because that depends entirely on what gets implemented and how quickly. It cannot see inside your competitors’ analytics, so competitor figures come from third-party tools and are labeled as estimates in the report. Local SEO and Google Business Profile audits, international and hreflang audits, log file analysis, and eCommerce catalogues above 1,000 products sit under Custom rather than in the fixed packages, not as an upsell but because they are genuinely different work using different tools. The full picture is in the limits section above.

How the audit runs

Do you need access to my Analytics and Search Console?

No. Every audit can be completed without it using third-party crawl and index data, and plenty of clients start that way. It does make the findings sharper, because estimated data becomes your actual data: real impressions and clicks per query rather than tool estimates, real indexation status per URL rather than inference, real manual actions, and real conversion paths so findings can be weighted by revenue instead of traffic. Once you order we send one email address to add as a restricted or read-only user, never owner and never admin, and you remove it the day the report is delivered. If you would rather not share access at all, say so on the discovery call and we will clearly label every finding that is based on third-party estimates rather than your own data.

How long does an SEO audit take?

Wide Angle is 5 business days, Close Up is 7, Deep Focus is 10 and Full Frame is 15. All of them are counted from the discovery call rather than from your order, because the call is what sets the scope. The report is sent first and the walkthrough call is scheduled after it, so you get time to read it properly before we talk. Rush timelines can usually be arranged for migration or launch deadlines, but raise it on the discovery call rather than after you order, because it changes how the work is sequenced.

Will the audit tell me what to work on?

Yes. Every finding is scored on ranking impact and implementation effort, then placed in a working order so you know where to start and what follows. That is an order of work rather than a shortlist, and the difference matters: everything in the report is there because it is affecting your search performance, and the report is written on the assumption that you will work through all of it rather than stop after the first few items. Each finding is written the same way, as what it is, the evidence for it, what it is costing you, and what changes once it is fixed. From Full Frame we also write developer-ready specifications that can be pasted straight into Jira, Asana or Trello without anyone translating them first.

After the report lands

Can you fix the issues the audit finds?

Yes, if you want us to. The audit is a standalone project and nothing in it depends on you buying anything afterwards, so the findings are written the same way either way. But if you would rather not manage the implementation yourself, the audit becomes the brief for our managed SEO, technical SEO or link building work, with no re-scoping and no second discovery process, because the diagnosis is already done and we already know the site. You are equally free to hand the report to your own developer, your in-house team or another agency. It is yours outright, and there is no clause restricting who sees it or what you do with it.

What is the difference between an SEO audit and an SEO service?

An audit is a one-time diagnosis. It tells you what is wrong, what it is costing you, and in what order to work through it. An SEO service is ongoing execution against that plan. The audit is the strategy document; the service is the implementation. A lot of businesses commission an audit first specifically so they can brief a retainer properly instead of paying someone to spend the first two months working out what is wrong, and some discover they do not need a retainer at all yet.

What happens if the audit finds almost nothing wrong?

Then that is what the report says, and it is a useful answer rather than a wasted one, because it means the problem is not technical and you can stop spending money looking for it there. In practice this is rare on sites that have never been audited, but it does happen on sites already under competent management. When it does, the report concentrates on the competitive and content gaps instead, because if your foundations are sound then the reason you are not ranking is almost always that somebody else is covering the topic better than you are. We do not pad reports with low-severity findings to justify the invoice.

Working with us

Can you audit my site if I already have an SEO agency?

Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people commission us. An independent audit answers the question you cannot answer from inside the relationship: is the strategy wrong, is the execution wrong, or is neither wrong and the work simply needs more time. We document what we find regardless of how it reflects on whoever did the work before us, including when the honest conclusion is that the current approach is sound and should be left alone. You own the report outright and can hand it straight to your existing agency as a work order.

Do you offer white label SEO audits for agencies?

Yes. Any package can be delivered unbranded or built into your agency’s own report template, and we will join the client walkthrough call as a member of your team if that is useful. Agencies commissioning audits in volume are scoped under Custom rather than paying the per-audit list price, so tell us roughly how many audits a month and what the deliverable needs to look like. Everything else about the audit is identical: the same specialists, the same depth and the same turnaround.
